Rotary Kits 50 Pupils in Jos, Plans Support for Cancer, Renal Patients

The Rotary Club of Naraguta has kitted 50 indigent pupils from schools in Jos North and Jos South Local Government Areas with uniforms, books, backpacks and sandals.
The club’s president, Mrs Simi Goshwe, disclosed this at her investiture as president of the club in Jos.
Goshwe said the intervention was part of the club’s commitment to supporting vulnerable children and promoting access to education.
She said Rotary was committed to community service, particularly projects that responded to pressing social needs and made a difference in the lives of people.
The president said that as part of the club’s blueprint for the 2026/2027 Rotary year and in line with the club’s thematic area of health, the club planned to support vulnerable cancer and renal disease patients.
According to her, the interventions were aimed at improving the well-being of vulnerable members of the society.
She said the club would continue to identify areas where it could contribute meaningfully to the lives of people in Jos and beyond.
Goshwe called for collaboration and support from individuals and organisations to enable the club to implement its humanitarian programmes.
“The Rotary Club of Naraguta is committed to community service through interventions in education, healthcare and other areas of human development,” she said.
Earlier, Dr Gad Shamaki, a keynote speaker at the investiture, commended Rotary for its contributions to communities.
Shamaki called on other well-spirited individuals to emulate the gesture.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the benefitting schools included LEA Primary School, Kuru; LEA Primary School, Kunyi-Katse Gwafan; and LEA Primary School, Chuwang Nyam.
