The son of former Governor Ibrahim Idris, who recently joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Abdulrasheed Ibrahim, today paid a courtesy visit to the Deputy Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Comrade Joel Salifu, at his official residence in Lokoja.

During the visit, Hon. Abdulrasheed Ibrahim disclosed that he recently joined the APC and stated that his visit was to formally pledge his support for the administration of Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.

He also pledged his loyalty to the Deputy Governor, whom he described as the leader of the party in Kogi East.
Hon. Abdulrasheed assured the Deputy Governor of his commitment to support the present administration and contribute to its success.

“I have come to identify with this administration and to assure you of my total support and loyalty. I am ready to work with the government of Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo to ensure that it succeeds for the benefit of our people,” he said.

Responding, the Deputy Governor thanked Hon. Abdulrasheed Ibrahim for the visit and described him as “a big fish” considering his background and pedigree as the son of former Governor Ibrahim Idris.
Comrade Joel Salifu stated that Hon. Abdulrasheed would always enjoy equal right as the existing party members, and commended him for identifying with the present administration.

The Deputy Governor urged him to continue to rally support for the present government and join hands with other stakeholders to ensure its success.
He also used the opportunity to call on all sons and daughters of Igala Kingdom to shun tribal politics and remain united in support of the present administration for greater development across Kogi East.

According to him, only unity and collective support for the government can bring the needed progress and maximum development to the zone.
