Kogi Deputy Gov Meets Alla-Ejima Community Leaders, Urges Vigilance Against Criminal Elements 

The Deputy Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Comrade Joel Salifu, has urged residents of Alla-Ejima community in Ofu Local Government Area to remain vigilant and help security agencies protect their forests and communities from criminals.

The Deputy Governor made the call during a meeting with leaders of the community led by the Senior Gago, Mallam Abdul, on Monday, at his residence in Ejule, Ofu Local Government Area. 

During the meeting, the community leaders explained that security in their area has worsened in recent times. They said criminals have been entering their forests and using them as hideouts.

Responding, the Deputy Governor, who represented His Excellency Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, assured the community that the state government will continue to support them in tackling insecurity. He empowered their local vigilantes to rootout and apprehend any criminal that tries to invade their forest and  community. 

Comrade Joel Salifu encouraged residents of the area to always report any suspicious movement or strange faces in their communities to security agencies. And stressed that the administration of Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo remains determined to rid every part of the state of criminal activities and ensure that citizens live peacefully in their homes.

Comrade Joel Salifu also urged the people of Alla-Ejima to remain united and bury their differences for the peace and progress of their community.

He further commiserated with the people over the passing of their traditional ruler, the Agenyi Alla, praying for strength and comfort for the community during this period.

Speaking on behalf of the community, the Senior Gago of Alla-Ejima, Mallam Abdul, thanked Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and the Deputy Governor for listening to their concerns and supporting them.

He said the support from the state government has given the people hope to continue living peacefully and comfortably in their homes.
