Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has called on Nigerians to uphold the virtues of love, sacrifice, and unity as Muslims across the country celebrate Eid al-Fitr.

The 2026 Eid celebration recorded an impressive turnout of Muslim faithful across Kogi State, with a significant gathering at the Muhammadu Buhari Civic Center. Families, friends, and top government officials joined the Governor to observe the two-rakat Eid prayer.
Addressing journalists shortly after the prayers, Governor Ododo described Eid-el-Fitr as "a moment for deep reflection on the spiritual lessons of Ramadan". He noted that the festival embodies love, sacrifice, and total submission to the will of Allah, while promoting compassion, self-discipline, and generosity among adherents.
The Governor expressed gratitude to God for the successful completion of the fasting period and urged citizens to sustain the virtues imbibed during Ramadan in their daily lives.

He also reaffirmed his support for the policies and programmes of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that ongoing reforms are beginning to yield positive outcomes and require the collective support of all Nigerians.

On security, Governor Ododo assured residents of continued improvements through strengthened collaboration between the state government and security agencies.

Speaking on the political landscape, he advised aspirants seeking elective positions to engage meaningfully with the grassroots and earn the trust of the people, emphasizing that "leadership must reflect the true will of the populace".

Governor Ododo expressed confidence that the people of Kogi State will continue to make informed choices that will sustain good governance and drive development in the state.
