Gov Ododo Restates Commitment to Education at Igala Education Summit

The Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has restated his administration’s strong commitment to education, describing it as the key to growth and a better future for the people.
The Governor said this at the 2025 Igala Education Summit in Anyigba, Dekina Local Government Area, held to mark the 25th anniversary of the Igala Education Foundation.
Represented by his Deputy, Comrade Joel Salifu, he praised the leadership and supporters of the Foundation for their steady efforts in supporting education and changing the lives of many children and families across Igala and Bassa land over the years.
Governor Ododo described founder of the Foundation, late Professor Francis Suleiman Idachaba as a great educationist whose vision has helped many young people gain access to education and build better lives.
He stated that education remains a top priority of his administration, highlighting policies such as free and compulsory education from nursery to secondary school, payment of WAEC, NECO, and JAMB fees, improved school facilities, and better support for teachers.
Governor Ododo stressed that government cannot do it alone and called on parents, community leaders, and stakeholders to continue supporting the Igala Education Foundation to reach more students.
He congratulated the Foundation on its twenty five years of service and wished it continued success in the years ahead.
Ealier, the Chairperson of the 2025 Igala Education Summit, Mrs Achenyo Idachaba Obaro, said that the Foundation founded by late Professor Francis Suleiman Idachaba, in the past twenty five years had impacted lives, shaped and futures redirected through education. While calling for deeper involvement and partnerships of concerned Igala/Bassa sons and daughters for educational advancement of the district.
